Starting June 11, 2009, Electric Playground Media will begin offering remote technical support to hosting and internet marketing clients. By using remote assistance technology, we remove the challenge barrier for the end user. Rather than being walked through technical tasks such as setting up email accounts or running anti virus scans, Electric Playground Media technical support reps can now take control of the user's computer and perform these tasks quickly and easily. How it worksWhen a user is in need of assistance, a rep from Electric Playground Media will send a link to the user via email or instant messenger. When the user clicks that link, a small program is temporarily installed on the user's computer which then grants the rep access to the computer. The tech can then perform any tasks required from their remote location at the EPM office. When the tasks are completed, the tech logs out of the user's computer, and the temporary software is removed from their machine. The process is fast, easy, and most of all, secure. The remote assistance software currently works on Mac or PC computers. In the near future, we'll be able to perform remote tasks on mobile devices such as Blackberrys and iPhones. While we are currently providing this service to our hosting clients, EPM will soon offer remote support contracts as a core business offering geared towards saving companies money, time and hassle with their IT support requirements.
